Why Maharashtra is India's Premier Spice Export Hub

Maharashtra: The Gateway for Indian Spice Exports

Maharashtra isn't just India's industrial powerhouse — it's also emerging as a leading hub for spice manufacturing and export. Here's why buyers worldwide are increasingly sourcing from Maharashtra-based exporters.

Strategic Location & Port Access

Maharashtra is home to JNPT (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust) — India's largest container port handling over 50% of the country's containerized cargo. This means faster shipping times and competitive freight rates for buyers in UAE, UK, and Europe.

Rich Agricultural Diversity

The state produces premium turmeric (Sangli district), high-quality red chillies, and sources the finest coriander, cumin, and garlic from neighboring states. This proximity to raw material ensures fresher produce at competitive prices.

Quality Infrastructure

Maharashtra boasts FSSAI-compliant processing facilities, NABL-accredited testing laboratories, and APEDA-registered exporters. This infrastructure ensures every spice shipment meets international food safety standards.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Emerging Spice Hub

Formerly known as Aurangabad, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is rapidly becoming a center for spice trading and export. Companies like ASJK Laxmi Global operate from here, serving global markets with premium Indian spices.

Government Support

The Spice Board of India and APEDA provide export incentives, quality certification programs, and trade facilitation services. Maharashtra exporters benefit from these schemes, passing cost advantages to international buyers.
